Terms of Use

Last updated July 26, 2026

By using StatesideCalc you agree to these terms. They are short and worth actually reading, because the first one is the one that matters.

1. Estimates, not advice

Everything on this site — calculators, articles, state data — is general information. It is not tax advice, legal advice, financial advice or investment advice, and no professional relationship is created by your use of it. Calculators simplify by design: they cannot know your full tax situation, your county's exact rates, your plan documents or your contracts. Before acting on anything material, verify against the official source (which we link on each page) or consult a licensed professional.

2. Accuracy

We work to keep figures current and sourced — oureditorial standards describe how, including the visible “provisional” flag on data not yet verified for the current year. Even so, rates change, legislatures act mid-year, and errors happen. The site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.

3. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StatesideCalc and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its estimates — including decisions about employment, taxes, loans, housing or benefits. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the site is to stop using it.

4. Acceptable use

You may use the site for personal and internal business reference. You may not scrape it at volumes that degrade service for others, misrepresent its output as an official government determination, or republish substantial portions of its content or datasets without permission.

5. Intellectual property

The site's content, design and compiled datasets are owned by StatesideCalc. Underlying government facts — tax rates, statutes, thresholds — belong to no one; our compilation, presentation and code do. Linking to any page is always welcome, no permission needed.

6. Third-party links

We link out to government agencies and other authorities. Those sites have their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their content.

7. Changes

We may update these terms; the date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
